Keenmommy & Commodity Juicery

When I was a young child, my parents used to go to a small filipino store on King Edward and Fraser St. in East Vancouver. I vividly remember my dad driving our then maroon Pontiac Grand Prix to the location. Most often, he and I would wait in the car while my mom went in to buy whatever it was that she was looking for. That store is long gone now, but the other night I found myself in that very location again. This time it was for a blogging event, and my parents were not there to accompany me. Across the street from that tiny little store, now resides the Commodity Juicery. Their store  is located in the Mount Pleasant area at 3975 Fraser Street in Vancouver, BC. Commodity Juicery specializes in cold pressed juices, nutrient dense smoothies, immunity shots, cleansing programs, plant based meals, snacks & treats all made with whole organic ingredients.

I brought a plus one with me that night, a good friend and old nursing school classmate Rose. I had no idea what I was getting into that evening, but boy was I pleased after the night came to a close. There was about 10 of us in attendance that night. Our group was led by Carissa Campeotto (executive director) of Commodity Juicery. She was extremely hospitable and knowledgeable in her explanations of cold pressed juices and mylks (non dairy milks). We were treated to a variety of cold pressed juices and snacks. With each new flavor profile, we were educated on the benefits of plant based nutrition and the purity of their products.

The environment was clean and crisp looking. Everywhere you looked there were pops of color from all the different juices on display. It was definitely eye pleasing and palate pleasing too! What I loved about the experience was that there was no expectation to be an expert in understanding or knowing what cold pressed juices or mylks were. The more I learned about them and plant based nutrition, the more intrigued I was. Since my last diagnosis of thyroid cancer and throughout my current whole life challenge, I have a greater appreciation for trying out new things that can be beneficial to my body, specifically nutritively, and so, this event was right up my alley. I am more equipped now to move on with learning and understanding more about juices and mylks. And thanks to Commodity Juicery, I am super excited for what is to come!
